At about this time last year, God started working in me in incredible ways; ways that I hadn’t been aware of before. He gave me a desire to spend more time with him, and to get to know him more; to invest in my relationship with him like I’d never done in the past. So, when I saw that CAM was going to the Passion Conference, I really wanted to go. I didn’t know a ton about it, and had actually never gone to CAM before, but I knew I wanted to go anyway. I knew that Passion was focused solely on one thing: Jesus. The goal of the Passion Conference is to lift up the name of Jesus and make him known, and it’s something I wanted to be a part of. So I signed up. I met a bunch of crazy college students and we drove down to Atlanta. And I went expectantly; I went expecting God to do something big and crazy in my life. And that’s exactly what He did.
During Christine Caine’s message on Saturday evening, God made it pretty clear to me that things were about change for me. I didn’t know exactly how, but I knew I wanted to serve him more directly with my full-time job. Less than 10 days later, I saw a Facebook post that gave me the opportunity to do just that. I quit my existing job, ran mission trips in Oklahoma all summer, and now I’m here at Blackhawk, still trying to do that one thing: Lift up the name of Jesus and make him known.
Your story will not be the same as mine, nor should it be. But I can promise that God is faithful. And He will do immeasurably more in your life than you could ever ask or imagine. The Passion Conference is where I got my first glimpse of that. It could be the same for you.
