CAM is the College-Age Ministry of Blackhawk Church in Madison, WI. We exist to build a community that inspires movement toward Jesus and the Church. We accomplish this by connecting students to scripture, the church and each other.

We meet on Tuesdays at 8 PM throughout the school year for teaching, worship, and connection. CAM offers a variety of ways for students to learn and grow through small groups, trips, tight community and service.

CAM is a Registered Student Organization of the University of Wisconsin – Madison.

BELIEFS

We welcome everyone, regardless of your beliefs (or lack thereof). These beliefs are at our core:

God

There is one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Jesus

Jesus Christ is true God and true man. He lived a perfect life and died on the cross, a sacrifice for our sins. He arose bodily from the dead.

People

All people have sin in their lives and need God’s forgiveness. Those who trust in Jesus Christ and Him alone for their salvation become true members of the body of Christ.

Spirit

The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and to indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for godly living and service.

End

At the end, everyone will experience bodily resurrection and the judgment. Those who have faith in Christ will enjoy eternal fellowship with God.

STAFF

Nicola

Nicola Porto

Director of College-Age Ministry

Nicola never planned to work for a church. She wanted to be a broadcast meteorologist, but the calculus scared her away. Instead she studied marketing at the UW-Madison School of Business where her life changed radically and unexpectedly. She’s a Minnesota native married to her college show choir sweetheart, David.

Tim Puchner

Associate Director of College-Age Ministry

Tim grew up wanting to be a doctor by day and rock guitarist by night, but sadly that plan changed when he took organic chemistry. A (essentially) Madison native, Tim’s life drastically changed during his time as a student at UW-Madison. Tim is now joining CAM after a two-year stint as a Worship Arts intern at Blackhawk Church and is excited to spend more time back on campus.
